Now that summer has arrived, I thought I would share this delicately sweet and a tropical smoothie with you. You can make this smoothie in literally 5 minutes flat. I prefer to drink this smoothie as an afternoon snack to hold me over until dinner. This smoothie will continue to build healthy muscle from the strawberries and blueberries will boost the immunity system.
Here is a quick reference list explaining why blueberries are the antioxidant superheroes:
1. Blueberries protect your eyes and brain cells.
2. Studies have found that blueberries help reverse age-related brain loss.
3. A significant source of fiber, vitamin C, and iron.
4. Help assist the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Enjoy this smoothie any time of day! If you want a thicker consistency, add three ice cubes or unsweetened almond milk ice cubes. I love the creamy taste and texture the almond ice cubes add. Use your imagination and adjust the recipe to what your taste buds like.
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup coconut water
1 tbs flax seed
1 cup or handful spinach
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup mangos
1/2 cup strawberries
1.) Add the almond milk, coconut water, spinach, and flax seed – blend together until smooth.
2.) Add the next three ingredients and blend together until smooth.
3.) Pour into a glass and add extra blueberries on top.
For a thicker smoothie, freeze all the fruit and add a touch more coconut water and almond milk. Cheers!
